Honestbee suspends operations in several markets

Online grocery and food delivery service temporarily ceases operations in Hong Kong and Thailand.

Intense competition forces retailer to rationalise operations

Honestbee, the operator of habitat by honestbee, has suspended operations in Hong Kong, Thailand and Philippines. In a statement released by the retailer, it says that it is taking this action to “simplify what we do and how we do it to better meet what our consumers want.

The retailer acknowledges that “approximately 6% of our global headcount in the organisation are affected.”

Amidst the departure of some key executives, the retailer is said to be exploring options with ride hailing firms Grab and Go-Jek about the possibility of an alliance or partnership.
